About the teamOur Deals business is an exciting, fast-paced and an ever-growing business that focuses on deals and crisis situations for our clients. Collectively, we deal with the types of situations you hear about regularly in the news and we provide support, insight and analysis to the management, shareholders and financiers of business.

Our Deals practice supports clients through mergers, acquisitions and responses to financial distress. The Deals Tech team is a centre of excellence for embedding and enabling technology across our Deals practice. We help our Deals business go to market with compelling data analysis and automation technology. We are currently looking for a bright, enthusiastic, and hungry individual to help expand the reach of the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn new technologies, further develop your skills and advance your career with the market leading employer.About the roleYou will be supporting the development and enhancement of in-house developed business software applications and business databases used across a broad range of Deals engagements. Projects will be mostly greenfield in nature, so you will have the opportunity to architect and develop new solutions from the ground up and have significant input on the technical direction of projects.

Your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:Designing, creating, and upgrading bespoke applications using the .NET framework and C# languageAssist in the evaluation, selection, installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, and support of software applications within the firmWorking alongside the teams direct management to produce technical plans and documentation for team projectsHelping to maintain and provision the teams staging and production environments; alongside PwC Cloud ServicesTaking part in code peer reviews and providing input on architectural decisionsWorking closely with the teams direct management to support ongoing projects; by working alongside junior team members to help facilitate their work.RequirementsIf you are naturally inquisitive, have an analytical mind and enjoy solving problems in a rigorous and logical manner, for a variety of different businesses then this is the role for you. Alongside other members of the team you will engage with senior members of our business and clients, helping to solve their business problems and generate value.

You will need significant experience demonstrating a number of the following skills:Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude, and enjoy problem solvingHave experience of taking end-user business requirements and translating them into technical specificationsHave an entrepreneurial mind set and self-starter mentality, and be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity to come up with creative solutions to complex problems and develop these ideas into structured deliverable projectsAn ability to work effectively on tasks, both individually and collaborativelyThe ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, self-review your work and produce deliverables of a high quality under tight client deadlines in time pressured environmentsA strong desire to acquire and share technical knowledge with othersPassion for technology and new tools and applying and developing yourself to new areas (e.g. quickly getting up to speed with tools, analytical approaches and business challenges)Build collaborative working relationships at all levels, establishing credibility both internally and externallyTechnical skillsHave strong experience of developing applications using the .NET framework from version 4.6 upwards using the C# languageExperience developing ASP.NET MVC ApplicationsExperience developing ASP.NET MVC WebApi ApplicationsExperience using version control systems, preferably Git via Azure DevOps (VSTS)An understanding of the Agile development processAn understanding of cloud services (preferably the Microsoft Azure stack)Good experience of using SQL Server (writing queries, designing tables, use of stored procedures, tc)Experience using a wide range of APIsProven experience in all aspects of the Software Development LifecycleDesirable skillsExperience of Entity Framework and ADO.netExperience writing and reviewing technical documentationJavascript (jQuery, React/Angular)Presentation frameworks such as BootstrapOther coding languages such as Python/VB.NETExperience working in a corporate deal environmentAn understanding of basic accounting principles
