IT Support Technician

A varied and critical role, you will be working as part of our Digital Team to provide support to all users of our technology and services. Including working with internal and external customers to:

-Support our desktop IT (mainly Apple Mac OS)

-Support our web-based services

-Support the business with ad-hoc data fixes and reports

-Support the business with day-to-day information security processes

-Share knowledge on the best way to keep our data and organisation secure

Your responsibilities will include:

-Face-to-face and tech support for approximately 80 staff using Mac laptops; Google Suite for Business, and other core office equipment

-Set up of new office based equipment including laptops, meeting room equipment and network kit

-Helping to ensure the security of our office systems by managing accounts, software patches, anti-virus software etc.

-Liaising with suppliers and third-party software providers

-Working with other teams to verify, identify and manage live issues through to resolution

-Playing a pivotal role in the digital team in prioritising and communicating issues that require the development team to fix

-Identifying and implementing improvements in our system and IT support processes

You will have experience of:

-Experience supporting customers in a technical environment

-Experience of managing the technical and administrative aspects of office equipment in a small to medium size organisation

-Experience of database and web technologies

-Experience of working using your own initiative to solve problems

-Experience of ensuring the security of office systems

With the following knowledge and skills:

-Excellent communication skills - The confidence to communicate with clarity both in person and using online tools - whether resolving issues one-to-one or sharing knowledge at our team meetings

-Great analytical and problem solving skills - you will be need a keen eye for detail and will be expected to understand why problems are occurring and translate this into language the rest of the business will understand

-Technical ability - a solid understanding of desk/laptops (Mac in particular), office tech and systems with a demonstrable enthusiasm for working to maintain and improve it.

-Proactive in self development - an ability and desire to understand how technology works and how to fix it.

-Excellent planning and organisational skills - you will need to respond to a variety of demands and the ability to prioritise and manage expectations whilst delivering great customer service will be essential
