A career in our Tax Technology Innovation practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients’ tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You’ll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making.

You’ll focus on providing highly customisable platforms across the tax practice through research, development, and integration to build adaptable enterprise capabilities. It’s our mission to identify, apply and drive innovation through the application of ground-breaking and unique technologies to set PwC apart from the competition.OverviewData engineer in Tax T&IPull and clean data, build pipelines that transform that data into the required formatManage the data pipeline and gather data quickly and securely in order to assist other members of the Data team in Tax T&I in their roleResponsibilitiesBuilding and managing high-performance, scalable data workflows, pipelines and ETL processesWorking with a small, mixed discipline team to meet stakeholder expectationsManage stakeholder expectationsRequirementsMinimum qualifications & experience:Bsc or Masters - In Computer science or related qualificationPrevious experience as a data engineerExcellent knowledge of SQLSignificant experience in building ETL processesExperience in pulling data from APIs and integrating to Data Warehouse frameworksExperience with API developmentStrong knowledge of web scraping and/or crawlingGood understanding of data modelling and data warehousesGood experience of Azure Cloud or another tier-one provider (AWS, GCP etc)Experience with Cloud Architecture and ServicesStrong R or Python coding experienceSkills and abilitiesAbility to work with product owners to translate requirementsAbility to communicate their thoughts towards people with varying levels of technical expertiseAbility to report and present research findings and developments including status and results clearly and efficiently both internally and externally, verbally and in writing
