Role and Responsibilites

As a You will play a key part of a systems, software engineering and electronics team working on project delivery, service provision and product development. The role encompasses bidding for, designing, implementing, testing, obtaining customer acceptance and after-sales support of systems for the International Defence and Industrial market sectors.
You will be involved in specific projects such:
  • On-going software change and test of a networked system of bespoke devices for the Defence Sector using Embedded Linux.
  • Development of embedded software for next generation hardware components.
  • Development of the company's next generation of Vehicle Health and Usage Monitoring device firmware and support software.

Key Skills
  • Design and develop OO solutions for implementation in C/C++ on embedded Linux.
  • Understand Unix/Linux IPC concepts.
  • Able to configure and manage embedded Linux Operating System.
  • Be fluent in C/C++ with gcc/g++.
  • Have understanding of implementing software for TCP/IP socket communications.
  • Good Software Configuration Management and Issue Management experience .
Desirable Skills (not essential)
  • UML (ideally SysML with Enterprise Architect).
  • Knowledge of real-time systems (ideally RTI).
  • MS Visual Studio
  • Knowledge of C#.Net or Java.
  • Windows desktop or Windows Server application development knowledge.
  • Python or Perl.
  • SQL/Database experience
