LAMP Systems Administration and System Administration of Microsoft Micrsoft Windows Environments, Bash Scripting and Python, Source Control with GIT on one of GITHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, Azure DevOps repos, Web Services, APIs, Microservices Architecture, Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking Noncepts, Network Protocols, Docker (any Kubernetes exposure is a positive), Node.JS / Modern Front-End Stack, Monitoring & Logging Application Insights, DataDog & New Relic.£60,000pa (potential wiggle room for more DoE) + Substantial Benefits PackageDue to significant investment and growth over the past 24 months, this Birmingham based financial institution are pursuing excellence and with this pursuit they have a need to secure the services of "impact players" for their DevOps Team based in the heart of Birmingham City Centre.Joining this organisation you will engage a highly professional and supportive group who are technically advanced and well-funded as a Dev Ops function.Your key areas of responsibility within the role will consist of:You will lead efforts to automate CI and CD pipelines, sharing knowledge throughout the technology teamsYou will architect, develop, implement & support new cloud-based environments to support IT strategyYou will collaborate with the development of technology teams to understand infrastructure requirementsYou will perform the technical elements of software release working with technology teams & stakeholdersYou will help identify, create, implement processes or products to assist in support & manage releasesYou will set up & manage the monitoring of server and application environmentsYou will deploy scripts & debug where required and perform Log AnalysisYou will mentor & assist developers, technical employees and other stakeholders where requiredYou will understand the charging model for Cloud ServicesYou will Tag resources to ensure accuracy of Billing Reports.You will contribute to the technology selection process and make sure we use the right technology at the right time, balancing cost, benefit and risk in decision makingYou will review DevOp solutions ensuring they are designed to scale, secure & make best use for the environmentYour "Essential" Technical Skills will consist of:Building CI Pipelines for Web Applications using Azure DevOps (experience with TeamCity, Jenkins, CircleCI, CodePipeline will be a plus)Building & Supporting platforms in public cloud services ideally Azure (with AWS experience a big plus)MS Azure Cloud Services (with AWS experience a big plus)IIS / Azure Application ServicesExtensive systems administration of LAMP and Microsoft Windows environmentsSource Control with GIT on one of GITHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, Azure DevOps reposGood technical understanding of web services, APIs and microservices architectureSolid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and major protocolsGood experience of: Docker (any Kubernetes exposure is a positive), Node.JS / Modern Front-End StackBash Scripting and PythonMonitoring and Logging Application Insights, DataDog and New RelicThe "Desirable" Technical Skills you will have exposure to will consist of:Desired State Configuration, preferably PowerShell DSC (Chef, Puppet or Ansible experience a plus) from manifests in YAML or JSON.
