A leading education institute based in London is currently recruiting for x2 infrastructure engineers who will come on aboard and support core application, servers, systems and services. The infrastructure Engineers will manage and administer an array of services, consisting of Windows servers, O365 SaaS suite, Azure Saas/IaaS, on premise mail services, deployment tools, web services, server hardware, administering Windows IdM, virtual infrastructure, VLE, HR systems and software development.

Responsibilities

*To operate in a senior engineering role to manage and support the core application, servers, systems and services, with the ability to work with other teams from ITS and across the University to deliver work packages. As a member of the infrastructure team, it is crucial to keep abreast of current developments within the IT discipline and how it can be applied to deliver a more effective and efficient service to support the learning and teaching within a Higher Education context.

*To be active in the planning and development of Network, Applications, Servers & Systems and work in collaboration with other University faculties and departments.

*To administer the Windows Servers through scripted as well as conventional methods, including both Powershell for user accounts, access privileges and all O365 services. To support, develop and maintain Windows server environment, running under Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 and build the relevant hardened templates for the virtual environment.

*To configure, administer and support IdM systems and interfaces with cloud based service providers using connectors and APIs/Webservices.

*To work with the project management authority and other departments to ensure that all projects are properly initiated, recorded, and progress managed and monitored to deliver to time, cost and quality standards.

*To proactively monitor and manage the University's hybrid Exchange/O365 environment, ensuring excellent system performance and high resilience. To monitor the resources used by the system to predict resource shortfalls in advance. To recommend and implement preventative measures before problems occur as the main technical lead for Windows servers.

*To participate in the evaluation, development, implementation and support of new software on a variety of computer systems associated with the databases and other key Software Systems and advise on suitability for the intended use.

*To perform and automate any system maintenance, security and integrity checks. This also includes installing/deploying operating systems, upgrades and patches as required with systems such as SCCM. This may require occasional work to be done out of normal hours.

*To manage Data Analysis Reporting as required by University departments, regarding the consistency of computer account, student, and staff data in the accounts, student registry, help desk and learning and teaching databases.
