IT Services, a key corporate function, impacts almost every area of the working environment, aligning closely with Business Units and Corporate functions to meet business demand and growth. An opportunity has arisen for an IT Security Specialist to join the IT Cyber Security Team.

 

As the IT Security Specialist with an operational and infrastructure focus, you'll work confidently with IT and business teams ensuring services and systems are securely implemented and compliant with security controls and procedures; provide guidance and support on Cyber Security matters, protection against security threats, also assisting with the implementation, road mapping and service management of the SOC/SIEM service. You'll report to the IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security Manager.

Specific responsibilities will include;

developing and maintaining Cyber Security & risk standards and policies, ensuring adherence,

developing and maintaining processes to detect, protect, respond and recover from Cyber related events,

assisting with the implementation and ongoing service management of SOC/SIEM service,

taking part in security investigations and compliance reviews providing support and analysis,

communicating IT compliance risks with stakeholders and supporting ongoing educational activities.

An interesting and challenging role, requiring solid IT Infrastructure/Networking Support and Cyber Security experience, gained in a Cyber Essentials environment, it offers you a chance to learn, working at the heart of the Cyber Security Team, supporting the business in a major corporate. Broad Construction industry experience and IT deployment is desirable.

Of graduate calibre with a degree and/or business level qualification you'll need an ITIL accreditation and one or more of CISSP, SSCP, CISA, CISM, SANS, along with;

A broad knowledge of IT infrastructure systems; Cloud technology and Security, Azure, O365, MFA, possibly Oracle and Salesforce is needed with services including configuration, monitoring and response to security system events;

Vulnerability analysis & experience with monitoring tools plus an understanding of Microsoft systems, Windows, UNIX, Apple IOS operating systems, networking, work station & server & SIEM technology.

knowledge of a SOC implementation, data and information security and an understanding of ISO 27001 and GDPR and their impact.

Softer skills will include an enthusiastic, collaborative, analytical, robust and methodical approach with strong written and spoken communication skills; a commitment to service quality and customer service, with the ability to gain the support of others, manage expectations and influence outcomes.

The office base will be either the Doncaster office, South Yorks, with bi-monthly visits to Head Office, or HO near Rickmansworth and travel to other sites in the UK.

A flexible approach to the content and hours of work will be required to cover the SOC rota.
