Our systems play a vital part in enables us to deliver better outcomes for those in our care as well as helping us manage business information and KPIs.
You'll enjoy working autonomously in an Agile based environment and the leadership you'll offer to the Development team in improving and maintaining systems will be comprehensive. You'll complete all phases of the software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to build, testing and support, meeting with key stakeholders and writing tech specs as you go. We'll look to you to mentor junior team members as you deliver reusable, reliable code and data storage solutions, identify bottlenecks and bugs (devising solutions for both) and supporting legacy systems and the implementation of a DevOps environment. You'll even assist in code reviews and provide end user support. Because you'll likely be working from home, with weekly or monthly site visits (unless you'd prefer to work from our beautiful Cumbrian head office), you'll need to be able to motivate others, even when working remotely.
Our experienced Development team have big ambitions for the future software we use. We're aspiring to lead the way in our sector, so will welcome your ideas on how to help get us there, from basic improvements to whole new mini systems. In return you'll be given lots of support and mentoring, plus the opportunity to learn newer technologies such as .NET Core.
About you
We're looking for a great analyst and problem solver with proven .NET abilities. You'll need:
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
To have an exceptional knowledge and experience in web-based software design using IIS, SQL Server or equivalent RDBMS, T-SQL and .NET (C#)
To be highly knowledgeable and experienced in HTML, XML, CSS, Java Script and Ajax
A background in both front-end and back-end development
Proven leadership skills in a similar environment
At least five GCSEs or equivalent (NVQ2)
Knowledge of relational database fundamentals, design and development
The analytical and problem solving skills, not to mention self-motivation, to deliver great solutions on deadline
A sense of structure so your work can be easily picked up and understood by your colleagues.
It's also essential that you have a full, clean UK driving licence and are happy to work flexible hours when required. Plus a strong commitment to ensuring you're here, on site, when we need you, at least once a month, dependent on your location. A degree or equivalent in Computer Science would be advantageous.
