Front-Office RAD Developer - 6 months - London

Financial organisation is looking for an experienced Front-Office RAD Developer who will be responsible for building, maintaining and supporting solutions for the Trading Desks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develops quality and performing software that works, primarily using Excel but including integration with Enterprise platforms

- Completes development work within time, budget and standards

- Able to cater to front office requirements through a sound understanding of energy trading lifecycle

Skills/ Experience:

- Understands financial and physical commodity trading and can demonstrate implementation of software solutions to support this type of business.

- Understands derivative trading and can demonstrate implementation of software solutions to support this type of business.

- Understands market data, including price, volatility and correlation data and how it is constructed and used to value and risk vanilla and complex structured options.

- Understands vanilla and complex structured options and can demonstrate implementation of analytical models to provide valuation and risk for this type of trades.

- Understands market risk, in particular option greeks, and how they are used and applied in a trading business.

- Understands VaR and PaR and their importance in managing risk in a trading business.

- Can demonstrate high quality design and development to large distributed platforms applying modern architectural best practice.

- Full familiarity with the energy trading application suite - off the shelf and custom build

- Strong relationship with product owner(s) aided by strong domain experience and expertise

- Undertakes development work ensuring design principles are adhered to and

components are refactored wherever possible

- Completes development deliverables in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose, can be efficiently supported and the impact of future change requests can be assessed

- Follows all change control procedures and puts in place full version control and configuration management to ensure that the production service is not compromised
