The RoleYou will be providing systems engineering advice and other services on warship platforms such as Type 26 ASW Frigate and Type 31e Frigate. This will cover the entire system life cycle from capability management and requirements engineering through to system in-service support and ultimately disposal.A mixture of international standards (e.g. ISO 15288), naval standards (e.g. Def Stan 21-88), and industrial and domain-specific practices is employed in conjunction with knowledge of combat systems, equipment and their engineering.Key accountabilities

Application of systems engineering approach and execution of key systems engineering activities on significant projectsEngaging with stakeholders, project managers and senior technical staff to ensure customer and business needs are satisfied appropriately and problems are mitigated.Determines overall systems engineering processes required to achieve technical and programmatic objectives applying broad knowledge of systems engineeringPerforming one or more of key systems engineering (e.g. requirements engineering, system design, and/or operation and support) and/or systems engineering management processesResponsible for managing the output of assigned junior systems engineers (of potentially different specialisms)Skills and Experience Required Degree level qualification or equivalentKnowledge of Type 23/26/31 combat systems and constituent equipmentBroad knowledge of naval combat systems engineeringEvaluation of combat systems engineering proposals (plans, specifications, designs, test results etc.)7-10 years relevant experience in engineering/systems engineering would be desirableIf you think you are a good fit, please click apply and if you are shortlisted we will be in touch shortly for a confidential chat.
