The RoleAs a Systems Engineer you will operate at platform level and be the overarching technical lead for projects as directed by the Systems Engineer, accountable for the technical solution, its quality and assurance and delivery to schedule.

Typically you will have responsibility for the technical management of all activities on projects relating to a specific air platform or capability, and as such you may be the technical point of contact for our customers, military or commercial. You will engage with our customers to elicit and understand their requirements, and manage the process of analysis and decomposition of the requirements. You will also provide significant technical support to the Sales and Bid teams in terms of the creation of the Technical Delivery Plans and estimates, supported by Subject Matter Experts, to develop robust technical solutions.

Within Systems Engineering we are looking for Senior Systems Engineers to fulfil the roles within the Air Engineering business, with excellent leadership skills and who is willing to work in a team environment.Key Accountabilities:

* Day-to-day leadership and management of engineering and technical teams to deliver integrated engineering outputs that meet the customer's requirements.

* Ensuring that Systems Engineering gains and retains a 'world class' standard through continuous improvement.

* Working as a key member of the Systems Engineering team to deliver integrated activities to contracted time, cost and quality.

* Coordination of bids and estimates, generation of technical/solution strategies (e.g. Evaluation & Test Strategy), Technical Delivery Plans and work breakdown structures to support project cost plans and bids.

* Production of appropriate Technical Assurance plans and ensuring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.

* Identification of project technical risks and assisting the Project Manager with the management of them.

* Compliance with business processes and engineering governance.

Essential Qualities:

* A strong aerospace background

* HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant subject, or other qualifications with suitable experience

* Recent experience of delivering multi-disciplinary complex solutions

* Knowledge and understanding of a Systems Engineering V-Model approach

* A good knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority regulatory publications, certification, Release to Service, and UK military trials activities and processes

* Willingness to travel as required
