Technical Author | FrameMaker | DITA | ePublisher | Eclipse | Framescript | Permanent | Job | Crawley Technical Author required to join an established Software company based in CrawleyAs the Technical Author you will work alongside a number of experienced Technical Writers within the R&D division and will be responsible for planning, revising, correcting & implementing original and updated documentation in various formats (print, online etc). Up to 90% of the workload will be focused on altering and you will be working on average, 10,000 page technical documentsYour main stakeholders will be the development teams, based globally, and you will gain information and deliver the final documents to these teams.This is an all-encompassing Technical Author role where you will get the chance to test and try out new applications/products and gain an overall view of the organisation and their products/services.Essential experience:* Proven English writing and proof-reading skills

* Excellent organisational and time management skills

* Good communication skills

* Problem solving capability

* Self-motivated and flexible

* Proven ability to meet critical business deadlines

* Background in technical authoring

o Knowledge of FrameMaker

o Knowledge of DITA with possible usage of Oxygen xml editorDesirable* IT degree (other technical degrees will be considered)

* Knowledge of scripting languages such as Framescript

* Knowledge of Eclipse

* Knowledge of z/OS, UNIX, Windows or OS/400

o Knowledge of CICS, DB2, IMS on z/OS would be useful
