If so, this is the perfect role for you! I am working with a ramp-up business in Manchester that is looking to add a strong and dependable Technical Lead to their team. This is a really interesting time to be joining this business as you will have the autonomy to make a real difference to their products and still get the investment you need to develop your own skills.
The real value you will add to this team is in your technical knowledge, we don't necessarily need someone who has proven experience in a leadership role, it is more important that you have the attitude and aptitude to continue to develop yourself and others technically.
So, what do I need to know?
You will be able to evidence that you can improve and maintain the core Microservice based application stack of the business, this includes: Scala, MongoDB and RabbitMQ. You will work closely with the CTO, Data Science and Engineering teams to take on the responsibility of internal and customer-facing microservices, this will involve learning about and managing the many complexities that come with the build and maintenance of a complex SaaS product in this ramp-up environment.
What's the Tech Stack?
Ideally you will have most or all of the following tools and technologies:
Strong experience with Scala, Akka framework and the overall JVM Ecosystem. Strong knowledge of API's and Microservices. A good grasp of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, knowledge of Gitlab would be a plus. Containerisation with Kubernetes A grasp of Python and/or NodeJS would be advantageous. Working knowledge of Git. This role is with a growing, ramp-up business based in Manchester. They are a global reaching analytics business that has a clear focus on mining, analysing, modelling and linking unstructured and semi-structured data. They are quickly becoming a key player in allowing companies to verify identity, improve customer acquisition and reduce fraudulent activities.
