The Office for Students (OfS) is the new independent regulator for higher education in England. We were created in 2018 to ensure that all students, whatever their background, have a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.
We see diversity as key. Having a breadth of cultures and heritages in our business brings about an inspiring and inclusive environment - so we warmly welcome talent from all backgrounds. We`re also very proud to be a Disability Confident employer, meaning we`ll provide a fully accessible recruitment process for qualifying disabled applicants.
With the world becoming ever more technology driven we`re making sure we keep ahead of the curve. Information Technology is fundamental to the OfS in being able to carry out our role as a regulator effectively. We have just made a major investment in new cloud-based technology that underlines this commitment, as well as expanding our team further to drive forward these changes. Our IT team is at the forefront of tech development - remaining fresh and contemporary to ensure we embrace the direction of our industry. Our commitment and enthusiasm for moving forward with our tech means that opportunity for our people to succeed is truly great, with a wonderful work-life balance and vibrant office atmosphere to top it all off.
We are looking for an Application Specialist to take ownership of our Sharepoint Online environments to ensure their operational health covering all aspects; security, availability, maintenance, capacity, reliability and continual improvement. Key responsibilities will span across the full lifecycle of product management, from requirements gathering to delivery and into maintenance. The role requires engagement with internal stakeholders on new project-based activities, and to ensure that data architectural considerations are taken into account and effective best practices are implemented and maintained. The role will also take ownership of other OfS applications as required ensuring they are proactively managed throughout the application lifecycle.
If you enjoy working with IT utilising new technology and have excellent problem-solving and communication skills then we would love to hear from you.
Our IT department is dynamic. It`s fast-paced, busy and consistently challenging. It`s a friendly and supportive place to gain great experience quickly and personally develop in a customer-focused space - we are not simply just a support team, we are a key partner in the organisation. So, if you`re looking for an exciting role in an exciting, friendly place, then feel free to apply and tell us just why we should work together.
