The Office for Students (OfS) is the new independent regulator for higher education in England. We were created in 2018 to ensure that all students, whatever their background, have a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers. We see diversity as key. Having a breadth of cultures and heritages in our business brings about an inspiring and inclusive environment - so we warmly welcome talent from all backgrounds. We`re also very proud to be a Disability Confident employer, meaning we`ll provide a fully accessible recruitment process for qualifying disabled applicants. With the world becoming ever more technology driven we`re making sure we keep ahead of the curve. Information Technology is fundamental to the OfS in being able to carry out our role as a regulator effectively. We have just made a major investment in new cloud-based technology that underlines this commitment, as well as expanding our team further to drive forward these changes. Our IT team is at the forefront of tech development - remaining fresh and contemporary to ensure we embrace the direction of our industry. Our commitment and enthusiasm for moving forward with our tech means that opportunity for our people to succeed is truly great, with a wonderful work-life balance and vibrant office atmosphere to top it all off. We are looking for an Application Specialist to take on the administration of our Dynamics 365 infrastructure and related applications to ensure the secure and efficient operation of this business-critical service. Key responsibilities will cover all areas from administration and maintenance to providing technical support and knowledge sharing within the various teams. The role will require working closely with our Dynamics Lead, Operations and Development teams to ensure that architectural best practices are considered, and that effective security processes are implemented and maintained. The role may also take administration of other OfS applications as required ensuring they are proactively managed throughout the systems application lifecycle. If you enjoy working with IT utilising new technology and have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, then we would love to hear from you. Our IT department is dynamic. It`s fast-paced, busy and consistently challenging. It`s a friendly and supportive place to gain great experience quickly and personally develop in a customer-focused space - we are not simply just a support team, we are a key partner in the organisation. So, if you`re looking for an exciting role in an exciting, friendly place, then feel free to apply and tell us just why we should work together. For some roles, we operate a system of dual pay banding. This enables appointment of candidates to the appropriate pay band depending on their skills and experience, as demonstrated and assessed through the selection process. Successful candidates are then supported to develop the required skills and progress through these pay bands, subject to performance. See the job description for more details.
