This new round of financing will accelerate Elvie's research and development efforts, as well as help grow brand awareness and distribution. DescriptionWhat Elvie are looking for:We are looking for a full-time Data Engineer to join our award-winning team. We collect sensor data from our hardware devices via accompanying smart-phones apps, and also maintain comprehensive databases of user interactions and behaviour regarding our products. We develop detection models for firmware and mobile applications, to provide the user with valuable insight in real-time, even if they aren't connected to the internet, and support the work of the wider team by providing actionable insight on user behaviour. As a data engineer embedded in the data science team, you will have a significant impact on the development of process and tools to support analysis, machine learning model training and deployment.You're a data engineer with at least 2 years of experience You have advanced programming skills in Python You have a strong foundation in algorithms and data structures, and honed problem-solving skills You understand the importance of data and model versioning, and have worked with DVC, Pachyderm, or similar tools You are familiar with containerized production tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes The idea of working within a successful, high-growth start up in a fast-paced role excites you What you will do:Implement cutting edge solutions to difficult problemsWork across our entire data stack, from the storage of raw sensor data from our hardware devices, to the deployment of machine learning models within firmware and mobile applications Work collaboratively with the devops and firmware engineers to ensure continuous improvement Have a significant impact on developing infrastructure and process for the data science team Provide the tools and data to support the development of new and improved models and analysis Profile 2 years of commercial experienceA Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related disciplinAdvanced knowledge of SQLAdvanced programming skills in PythonSolid understanding and experience of unit testingUnderstanding of best practices surrounding package development and maintenanceExperience developing data pipelines and deploying models with tools such as Docker and KubernetesExperience of versioning data and pipelines with tools such as DVC or PachydermExperience of the data science process - able to work collaboratively with a data science team to provide the right data and insight at the right timeYou have excellent communication skills, both scientific and non-technical with the ability to write and discuss reports and system specificationsExperience with firmware development for embedded devices (desirable)Experience with NoSQL databases (desirable) Job OfferWhat are some of the perks of working at Elvie?We are looking after you.
