As the Data Engineer you will be responsible for:
The development, construction, maintenance and testing of solutions and processes, including development and management of databases, large-scale information processing systems and implementing flows to connect operational and information distribution systems;Developing complex information processing pipelines in a cloud or on-premise environment;Leading, managing and delivering all aspects of code development activities for information ingest routines for unstructured data;The implementation and maintenance of coding and tooling standards;Management and delivery of data governance principles;Providing technical leadership and mentoring to individuals within the team. The successful Data Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
Proven experience of data engineering techniques and concepts including information ingestion, processing and storage;Hands-on experience of large complex projects designing and developing ETL pipelines in a cloud or on-premise environment;Experience of developing/utilising programming and query languages e.g. SQL, Java, Scala, etc.Experience managing effort and progress against project or delivery plans;Knowledge and experience with big data systems and concepts / MS Azure storage, management and analytical applications and/or working in a cloud-based environment is beneficial.
