The Role
The primary output for this role will be provision of safety engineering expertise to deliver defined artefacts in support of projects to our clients. Artefact production will cover the whole range of Safety Management System (SMS) documentation for the Air platform domain.Responsibilities Act as Technical Lead on ATM safety engineering projects, dealing directly with customersUnderstand and work within the regulatory and policy boundaries, offering advice and guidance to other QinetiQ business areas and customers alike. Advising on the safety of current equipmentDevelop new and nurture existing business relationships both internally and externallyProvide recommended solutions to problems that are defensible, auditable and which will meet customer's expectations and needsSupport time estimates for inputs to bidsEssential RequirementsSafety Critical Systems or Safety Qualification at Masters Level or equivalentYou will have significant previous air traffic control experience (at least 5 years) as an Operator or Engineer with a safety backgroundHave good Technical knowledge of equipment - Knowledge of communication, navigation and surveillance areas is essentialGood judgement for reliably identifying and managing opportunities and risksIf you think you're a good fit for the role, great!
