Power BI Developer - Manchester

Day Rate - £425

Duration - 3 Months Initially

Location - Manchester

IR35 - Inside (MUST USE UMBRELLA COMPANY)

Details of the role:

In this role, you will be working with the BI team on a wide range of projects that range from development and maintenance of a data warehouse to data migration to implementation of BI solutions using a variety of tools, to 'pure SQL development'.

Ideally you will have solid experience using both Oracle and MS-SQL and building dashboards. Our client is currently progressing to a MS-SQL Azure environment.

You will have responsibility for specific projects and will liaise closely with your immediate team, as well as the DBA and Infrastructure teams and Heads of Department to be a "touch point/SME" in said projects.

Essential requirements: PL/SQL and Oracle. MS BI stack (SSIS, SSAS) T-SQL (Transact-SQL), Analysis Services tabular Model, In-depth understanding of ETL processes Previous exposure to Data Warehousing design/development Power BI

You should have a strong understanding of requirements and able to develop BI content. You will naturally enjoy and be able to design and integrate functional dashboard systems using Power BI.

What we expect from you (includes desirables)

*Expert technical experience MS SQL (TSQL) and the MS BI stack (SSIS, SSAS), Analysis Services Tabular Model

*Expert technical experience of PL/SQL and Oracle

*Experience as a Database Architect focusing on large scale, complex, transformational solutions

*Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance

*issues, blocking and deadlocking, replication, connectivity, security issues etc.

*Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools

*Ability and Expertise to guide / author a technology strategy

*Experience delivering BI Architecture, reporting, database etc.

*Ability to perform database and SQL performance analysis and making tuning changes.

*Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance

*Technical documentation

*Support implementation of software with database development

*Database planning

*Create, Manage and maintain internal development, testing (QA) and production databases

*Participate in Load and Performance Tests and analyse bottlenecks and performance issues

*Creating new solution patterns within the SQL database and stored procedure code

*Strong communication, requirements gathering and business analysis experience

*Experience working with Azure DB

*Good knowledge of cloud concepts, cloud infrastructure and related technologies.

*Experience of developing Power BI reports from an Analysis Services tabular Model, and the ability to change the tabular Model to develop the reports.
