Role description:
SAP Basis Consultants are involved in the delivery of Project, Enhancements and Support to our large customer base, required to perform day to day support of customer SAP Systems consultants will also be required to:
Perform project work including Patching, Upgrades, Migrations and Installations.
Work to strict SLA's in able to deliver required services to our customers in a timely fashion
Assess the latest available technologies, and recommend solutions according to the customer's activities and requirements based on these technologies
We are looking for consultants who are confident and capable of leading customer engagements, working independently on customer sites where required to deliver technical services and who have an interest in understanding industry advances within the technical and hosting space.
Key Tasks:
Work across clients and senior stakeholders to architect and advise on Technical solutions
Own design, implementation and support of technical enhancements, projects and support incidents throughout the customer engagement lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet stated business goals.
Lead and facilitate workshops to gather and manage customer technical requirements and align with SAP and Infrastructure solutions, in particular Microsoft Azure.
Complete Technical tasks for customers to meet our service and support agreements
Support of colleagues within the Sales and Pre-Sales functions
Keep up to date with SAP strategy, including Hosting, Infrastructure and Cloud technologies
Contribute to the Client's Technical and Hosting Strategy, including creation of Point of View documents, packaging of solutions, best practise designs and delivery standards
Disseminate technical knowledge to colleagues
Create and maintain effective relationships with partner organisations where required, including but not limited to SAP, Microsoft and other technical partners
Participate in our Nights and Out of Hours oncall rota to ensure continuous service provision to our customers. Expected to be part of the Out of Hours on call rota.
Required skills & experience:
Deep functional knowledge and implementation experience of SAP Technical solutions and Basis Deep experience of leading customer engagements, understand business and technical requirements and ability to provide innovative and effective solutions
Experience in SAP Netweaver 7.x, ECC 6.0, SRM, CRM, Enterprise Portal and PI/PO
Experience or knowledge of HANA administration
Installation and Configuration of Solution Manager 7.2
Experience in system installations, upgrades and migrations
Experienced in Virtualised Environments both Windows and Linux / Unix
Windows, including Microsoft Clustering and Linux / Unix
Cloud platform experience or knowledge (Azure preferred)
Experience of SQL Server, Oracle and DB2 Databases including Patching and Upgrades
Security and ABAP Role Authorisations and Maintenance, CRM, JAVA and BW Role aware
Good knowledge of Integration between Basis and other modules
Strong Collaboration skills and a team working approach
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to construct and deliver effective demonstrations to a customer community to communicate our solution offering and how it will meet their business need.
Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
Flexibility to travel to customer locations as and when required
Eligible for SC level Clearance
Additional Information
There will be requirements to work shifts patterns, covering Night Shifts and providing out of hours on call provision on a rotational basis to support our customers.
