Software Project Manager (Software House)

Manchester

Up to £40000 per annum

Our client, an award-winning technology business, are looking for a Project Manager to join their Manchester office. The role will be responsible for the timely and effective delivery of business and technology based projects, in support of strategic objectives. The role is to deliver projects through the entire delivery life cycle; from project entry through to go-live and post implementation. Whilst many projects deliver technology driven change to support the evolving technology landscape experience of delivering IT change to would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities:

* Manage the delivery of multiple technology led projects,

* Delivery of complex IT orientated projects, across multiple functions, with a mix of internal Agile development and third-party supplier development

* Establish and maintain effective and trusted relationships with internal Business and IT project stakeholders and external third-party suppliers

* Co-ordinate and drive the collaboration of project resources to get the best from technical and non-technical project teams

* Production and agreement of project scope, project plans and responsibility for leading and managing the project team to these plans

* Produce and monitor resource forecasts and budgets and where change is required, follow appropriate change control procedures

* Regular reporting on project status to sponsors, stakeholders and executive management board

* Identification and management of project risks, issues and dependencies, plus assessment of consumer outcome risks posed by the project

Knowledge & Skills

* PRINCE2 Practitioner certification

* 3 years + project experience

* Experience of IT development methodologies e.g. Agile, SDLC ideal

* Experience of delivering in a financially regulated environment is desirable

* Financial services industry knowledge, e.g. pensions, investments and stockbroking, would be beneficial

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to build and manage effective relationships

* Good business/commercial knowledge

* Analytical skills/problem solving

* Strong planning and organisational skills

* High attention to detail

* Strong technical knowledge and experience gained from a technology background

* An ability to quickly understand technical topics
