IT Security - Insider Threat Analyst

Would you like the opportunity to work in a dynamic data analysis environment, within the Insider Threat function in Enterprise IT Services (EITS) Security, providing a key function in protecting the business? We currently have a vacancy for an IT Security - Insider Threat Analyst which can be based at our site in Preston, Filton or Farnborough.

As an IT Security - Insider Threat Analyst, you will interpret a multitude of data across the business, anything that may provide a threat to the business, looking at issues such as forbidden sites or illegal plugins. This role focuses on analysing the data that comes from the networks, pc and servers, assessing violations or anything that may be of concern to the business from an insider point of view.

This role will provide you with a number of career development avenues and could lead to a number of roles including a Security Project Professional or Data Analyst.

Your main responsibilities as an IT Security - Insider Threat Analyst will involve:

Contributing to the development of the service through process, people and technology where appropriate

Contributing to the management and updating of the Service Dashboard

Monitoring internal sources of information in line with the Analyst role

As required, performing analysis of identified threats to determine if they are risks to the business

As appropriate, sharing Intelligence back to internal and external sources according to the relevant policies and procedures

Contributing to IT Security Technical Control Software solutions service pilots and proof of concept testing in support of the cyber security investment programme

Providing response to large scale or complex security incidents and providing on call duties as required

Ensuring that any changes to IT Security Technical Control Software solutions are considered to be executed within a project framework as appropriate

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Strong analytical background with the ability to analyse and interpret large and complex data sets and articulate observations, conclusions and recommendations

Background of prior experience of information/cyber security (Government or Commercial sector)

Knowledge of ITIL processes

Data manipulation experience

Desirable:

Understanding of architectures and configurations of networks and the underlying technologies

Technical background with experience in an IT or IT Security operations or equivalent

ITIL Foundation qualification

ArcSight ESM experience
