The Role
You will be part of a team that provides expert Customer Network and Applications Discovery - which will be used to base line the customer's current state from an asset, topology, dependency and cost perspective.
You will be responsible for delivery of external customer discovery projects, dealing with all relevant issues (usually without the guidance of the manager) - with a specific focus on Network Discovery. He /she will be responsible for the quality of the Discovery project and the analysis of the data.
The output of this work is to support directly billable customers for major bids, post contract mobilisation, transformation and transition as well as ad-hoc discovery projects for in life service management.
Responsibilities
- Work on technical discovery projects - with a focus on Network Discovery. This may involve working alone or leading a virtual team
- Manages cost and profitability for discovery projects
- Network Discovery Execution - in a project environment:
- Tool deployment
- Data interpretation
- Inventory reporting
- Network Topology diagrams
- Network Performance Analysis
- Create Network Inventory reports and make recommendations to senior customer stakeholders
- Contribute to pipeline of projects, manage resources, customer satisfaction and quality of project delivery
- Contributes to the definition and development of Discovery solutions
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers of network discovery technologies
Leadership accountabilities
- Maintains a reputation for quality and delivery of their expertise to the business.
- Contributes to the definition of strategy and evolution and / or associated infrastructure investments for Group / LoB.
- Responsible for technical delivery plans for programmes.
- Contributes to the transformation strategy for a network, platform or technology discipline in own area of expertise.
- Leads and mentors team(s) to provide technical / professional solutions to new innovative services.
Essential Skills
Network Discovery - incl. Tool deployment, Data interpretation, Inventory reporting, Network Topology diagrams, Network Performance Analysis, Site AuditsNetwork Discovery to EXPERT level - Experience of a wide range of automated network discovery tools like:
- Entuity Network Analytics (ENA)- BMC ADDM- Ionix- EMC Smarts- Netbrain- SkyboxUnderstanding of IT and Network infrastructure - incl. most of these:
Current and older network protocols and architectures incl IP, SNMP, WMINetworking technologies e.g. WAN, LAN, WLAN, and IPT
