An opportunity has arisen for an Android Architect to join an established and respected company in a permanent role, taking a senior role in the design and development of the next generation of their products. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced engineer who has worked with many versions of Android, been through the full development lifecycle, from design to release, of a complex Android product utilising a custom hardware platform and interfaces. A key attribute of the successful candidate will be the ability to enthuse, coach and mentor experienced embedded software engineers whilst they transition to the new environment required for Android development Key Android skills/knowledge required: Architecture and ecosystem, build systems, middleware development, performance optimisation.Android SDK and APIsAndroid security architecture Strong Java experience, acquired on commercial Android projects Experience of developing for mobile platforms Also, if you have experience of a variety of modern software development tools (debuggers, static analysers, Continuous Integration Servers, Git etc.) and embedded C software development on real time systems - this will be very positive. You will be equally working on R&D projects, as well as product development, so there is plenty of variation and opportunity to explore new technologies.
