Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Service Desk Specialist to join their IT Team in the South West region. Based at their Bishops Cleeve site and reporting to the Service Delivery Manager.The Role

As a Junior Service Desk Specialist, you will provide outstanding customer service by resolving incidents on first call utilizing 1st and 2nd line support knowledge and capability. Any issue that cannot be resolved should be escalated for the wider team to resolve.Your Main ResponsibilitiesTypical Activities:Work with the Service Desk team:Log incidents by phone in a timely fashionEnsure that tickets are correct (category, priority, allocation, etc.)Develop and maintain self-service documentationResponsible for keeping the user informed on the progress of their support ticketEscalate tickets where required to the IT management teamWork with the department to provide services to all users:May require the Delivery of new equipment (PC, printers, mobile devices)Maintain users (account configuration, starters & leavers, support new users, mailboxes, etc)Travel to regional offices when required (transport will be provided)Support and troubleshoot services and components:Provide 1st line support on allocated ticketsUpdate process and maintain documentationOther responsibilities:Communicate and escalate known/reoccurring issues with the IT Management teamAssist with the development of the service management systemProvide training to end users and other members of IT staff as requiredAdhere to the IT Security Strategy at all timesCommunicationCommunicate with members of the IT department to ensure internal SLA's are metAttend departmental meetings as required, contributing as necessaryProvide regular updates on progress to relevant teams and individualsAbout You

Personal Skills and Experience

* Ability to quickly understand requirements/design

* A working knowledge or a desire to learn and implement new technologies

* Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and to strike the right balance between long term/projects and short term/support issues

* Excellent communication skillsTechnical Skills or knowledge

* Microsoft Windows 8 or newer

* Microsoft Office 2013 or newer

* Microsoft Active Directory user/group administration and group policy skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills both face to face and over the phone

* Team player

* Professional attitude

* Willingness to share knowledge with others

* Ability to work under pressure

* Hold a full UK driving licenceSpecial Circumstances

* Requires travel to other business locations and supplier locationsDesirable
