Senior (or Principal) Applications Engineer - IC Design

A global market leader in the development of design solutions is looking for an inspired an experienced Engineer to joint them as Applications Engineer in Southern Germany.  In this role you will use your skills in IC Design methodology to enable Semiconductors companies adopting solutions and associated IC design methodologies. The Application Engineer will work with some of the most technically demanding IC design development solutions and small process nodes. The Applications Engineer is credible to articulate design development solutions with an emphasis on custom IC design platform. In a customer facing and commercially sensitive working environment, you will be responsible for actively assisting customers and prospective customers in resolving customers design challenges while promoting design development solutions. You will provide design environment assessments and consulting services and the customer in the successful deployment of design flows and associated methodologies. In this position you will acquire a strong technical understanding of the IC design and package design flow including physical extraction with multiple EM analysis solvers and drive best practices and lessons learned from training deliveries, tool benchmarks and customer interactions back into product development and your company’s AE community. You goal is to build long term customer relationship through understanding customer’s needs and developing sales strategies while improving pre-existing and new design methodologies.As the successful Principal or Senior Applications Engineer you are industry degree qualified in Microelectronics Engineering and have around 5 years of experience in Analog Mixed Signal IC design or a technical support role related to IC design such as CAD/EDA/Methodology in a Cadence environment. Experience with RF IC or RF design and industry standard EM tools, UNIX, SKILL, C or related programming languages is beneficial. You should have excellent problem-solving skills an interpersonal skills as well as a passion for technology with a strong sense for business.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Analog/RF IC Designer or CAD Engineer to embark onto a strongly customer facing career path and join a great team of AE’s.
