Flexible working arrangements and some excellent benefits on offer.Client DetailsThe client are local government organisation and this role is part of their small IT function, supporting their offices in Manchester and Leeds. They offer very flexible working arrangements and a friendly, collaborative environment.DescriptionIT Security and Data Officer - Manchester - GDPR, NetworksThe main purpose of this role will be to provide IT security and data compliance services to the organisation, ensuring continual compliance with the organisation's IT, data and security policies & strategies.In addition you will provide ad-hoc 1st and 2nd line IT Support as needed.The appointed candidate will also be expected to partner with relevant business areas, provide specialist advice, identify opportunities for improvement and design/deliver new approaches to IT service provision. As part of this role, you would mainly be based out of the Manchester office (some home/remote working is possible), with travel to Leeds once per week.ProfileThe successful candidate will have extensive experience working within a similar IT support, security or data compliance role within cloud and desktop based environments and will have knowledge of security standards applicable to the public sector. You will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office 365 with knowledge of virtual server and application platforms as well as various network access methods including Firewall, DSL, Fibre optics, leased circuits, satellite and wireless.With excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to engage with a variety of audiences across the business as you offer, support, guidance and advice on a range of technical queries.Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant IT related subject, you will have in addition, successfully completed and obtained ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
