The Donor Management team within NHS Blood and Transplant are the difference between life and death. At the heart of their work is a determination to ensure that hospital patients always have access to the blood components that they need - and when you join us in this newly-created role, you will be instrumental to our nationally-important mission. Embrace the spectacular training and development opportunities that we can present you with, and make a difference from day one.

About the role

Making sure that the right donors are being invited to the right sessions, you will ensure there is a constant supply of blood. How that translates to your duties will be highly varied. Leading by example, you will manage a team of Invitation Assistants to secure enough donors for each session. On an ongoing basis, you will use the most appropriate channels to connect with the right audiences, constantly looking for ways to improve the way we are engaging with our valuable donors. As such, you will also play a key role in vital IT change programmes, ranging from small process amendments, through to the development of large-scale projects. Sharing your knowledge with colleagues across the organisation to ensure the entire team are aware of these new systems, you will become an expert in the way we use our databases.

About you

This is a valuable chance to push the boundaries of your knowledge in a friendly and progressive workplace. To be an essential part of our collaborative team, you will therefore need a post-graduate-level degree or relevant experience. You will also have:

Knowledge of data and systems development for direct communications such as email, SMS and telephone. This will be evident in your previous experience of managing Quality Management Systems.

A good understanding of the legislation affecting electronic communications and data protection, plus data selection processes in relation to direct marketing.

A good awareness of developing detailed user requirements by collecting and analysing information.

A comprehensive grasp of PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

An inspirational approach to mentoring and supporting colleagues, with a proactive ‘can-do' approach.

About us

As one of the world's leading transplant and transfusion organisations, we put our people at the heart of everything we do. That's why we invest in both their career progression and their emotional wellbeing. As such, you will find a varied and dynamic workplace in which your long-term ambitions will be enhanced with bold development opportunities, while your work/life balance will be supported by skilled and welcoming colleagues and lifestyle-friendly hours. Join us, and put your skills to the test in an opportunity like no other.
