Database Analyst

Inside IR35 (umbrella)A Database Analyst is required for our client based in Manchester. You will support the integration of systems and solutions and the ability to develop good quality reporting outcomes for the benefits of the business.The ideal candidate will-

* Be the expert in a wide range of allocated ICT systems and technologies to ensure that they meet requirements and are fit for purpose

* Development and administration of application databases.

* Development and implementation of application integration tools and processes.

* Liaise with areas of the business and other Business Systems teams to define requirements and effectively translating information into the best technical solution

* Provide day-to-day support of all allocated applications that are critical to the smooth running of the business. Ensuring that the systems are monitored, maintained and documented to ensure maximum availability and efficiency and minimal disruption

* Liaise with 3rd party developers to develop solutions and resolve issues.

* Work to continually improve areas of responsibility

* Develop and implement reporting tools for all applications

* Develop and implement web based business applications

* Review emerging technologies for potential use

* To undertake any other duties as reasonably required

Experience & SkillsEssential

* Strong T-SQL writing skills - querying, dynamic SQL, triggers and stored procedures

* Expert in SQL Server Management Studio environment and tools

* Database administration - indexes, backup procedures, security, and performance tuning.

* Solid understanding of Relational Database design and development

* Strong understanding of Visual Studio, BIDS and other IDEs.

* SQL Server Integration Services, ETL and Reporting Services

* Experience of end-to-end testing

* Knowledge of modern ICT business systems (including web based applications)

* Ability to learn new programming languages and toolsDesirable

* Project management

* Programming languages - Javascript, C#, VBA, VB.NET, XML

* Understanding of implementing SQL Server Analysis Services and Data Warehousing

* Knowledge of IIS

* Understanding of Software Delivery frameworks

* Knowledge of Housing Associations

* Knowledge of multi-media applications

* Knowledge of Windows Server environment and tools

* Understanding of MySQL, Oracle, PostgresSQL, Progress database environments, data types and tools.

* SharePoint Development and administration

* Knowledge and experience of data warehousing and reporting tools i.e. Power BI
