Job Title: College Information Systems AssistantLocation: Hulme, ManchesterSalary: £19,381 - £22,142 per annum, pro-rataJob Type: Part time, Fixed-term (22 hours per week)Closing Date: 9am on 3rd February 2020The College is located in Hulme a mile south of the centre of Manchester and very close to Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University, with excellent transport links. It is one of the largest Sixth Form Colleges in the country and rated as Outstanding at the last Ofsted Inspection.They are seeking am Information Systems assistant to assist the CIS Manager with the maintenance of the College database and the provision of timely, accurate and user friendly data.Main Duties and Responsibilities:To process data concerning student, enrolment and destination details into the central MIS databaseTo process course and timetable data into the MIS databaseTo continually update departmental procedures and document any new initiativesTo assist with the maintenance of the College database to ensure the accuracy and availability of all student data required for the efficient management of the CollegeTo query the college databases in order to produce reports and datasetsTo assist the CIS Manager with retrieval and validation of data for audit, statistical or management purposesTo provide support to help with College events as requiredTo create Columbus usernames and passwords for new staff and resetting passwords for current staff in line with IT security regulationsTo have a basic knowledge of government funding methodologies and achievement requirementsTo provide regular feedback in relation to the progress of tasks completed, those outstanding and progress towards departmental priorities, targets and deadlinesTo ensure familiarity with and adherence to all policies and procedures and data systems relevant to the postStaffingTo undertake staff development where appropriateTo take part in the College's Appraisal ProcessTo ensure that appropriate arrangements for cover are made when absentTo work as part of a team and to ensure effective working relationsQuality AssuranceTo ensure the effective operation of quality assurance systemsTo contribute to the process of the setting of targets within the department and to work towards their achievementTo assist with the implementation of College quality procedures, especially through contribution to the self-assessment processCommunicationsTo ensure familiarity with the department's aims and objectivesTo liaise with relevant external bodies as appropriateMarketing and LiaisonTo contribute to the College liaison and marketing activitiesTo link with external agencies as appropriateManagement of ResourcesTo contribute to the maintenance of an attractive working environment in the College officeThe successful Candidate will have/ be: Educated to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience that demonstrates a high order of literacy, numeracy and analytical skillsExperience with computerised systems and a proven ability to use and adapt quickly to new technologyExcellent IT skills including the ability to use MS office applicationsNumerate with the ability to analyse data and produce easy to understand reportsExcellent attention to detailGood knowledge of SQLThe ability to recognise and appreciate the confidential nature of some work undertakenAbility to empathise with 16-19 year olds within a college situationAbility to prioritise a demanding and changeable workloadAbility to adapt quickly to new environments/technologiesAbility to meet deadlinesPositive and EnthusiasticSmart in appearance and mannerAn excellent record of punctuality and attendanceFlexibility and a readiness to undertake a wide range of tasksAbility to work outside normal office hours on occasionsPlease click on the APPLY button and CHECK YOUR EMAILS for the link to our Client's careers page.Candidates with the experience and relevant job titles of: IT Technician, IT Support Engineer, IT Service Engineer, IT Service Desk Technician, IT Support Technician, Support Technician, IT Support Engineer, Technical Support, IT Support, IT Systems Support will be considered for this role.
