Senior Software Engineer - Altrincham

Salary up to £70k DOE

They are built around small development teams with responsibility for specific themes and initiatives. The Senior Software Engineer role is intended to bring technical expertise, significant experience and a lead by example behaviour to their software development process.

What you'll need

Java programming ability with in-depth understanding of underpinning techniquesProven ability of tackling challenging projectsDemonstrable knowledge of Databases and query languages (SQL)Experience in full software development life cycle from design to deployment using agile methodologies such as Kanban and ScrumObject Oriented Design and Programming

Nice to haves

2:1 degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or similar technical degreeAWS, GCP, Azure knowledgeRedshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, JUnit, GWT, Maven, Jenkins, Linux, Scripting for CLI, CICD, tool automation, etc

What you'll be doing

Taking the lead on developing new architecture and designs across the company to ensure cohesive but loosely coupled solutionsAssisting in curating the team backlog to ensure the team are always working on the highest priority itemsThe prompt prioritisation and processing by the team of incoming bugs according to strategyAssisting in developing new skills within the team through coaching and delegationDiscuss, establish and maintain the design patterns, framework selections and direction of the codebaseRecognition of problems and recasting difficult-to-solve problems in order to find unique and innovative solutionsGetting involved in recruitment and mentoring junior team members in developing their skills
