A London based Investment Bank are looking for a Network Engineer to join there Global IT department.The salary is £40k - £50k base + package + yearly bonus.The team is responsible for the delivery and operation or all IT infrastructures, networks, telecommunications, desktops, helpdesk as well as some production operations functions. Key Responsibilities The network engineer will conduct the following duties, in conjunction with colleagues in Paris, London and Singapore: Proactive support of London network estateWorking on new Network solution projects from Wi-FI, Firewall, VOIP etcProvide 3rd line network support, from configuration, deployment, installing through to design and implementationDay to day administration and support of appropriate network management toolsReporting of network performanceAssist with the planning and implementation of patch management.Network administration typically Cisco & AristaManagement of firewall rules and policies on Fortigate and CheckpointMonitoring and administration of IDS, IPS systemsSupport of the Global message bus on SolaceTroubleshooting with network flow analysis (Packet capture analysis) ROLE REQUIREMENTS:Enthusiasm and EnergyResults orientated / Delivery focusedStrong written and verbal communicationAt least 2 years' experience of Network engineering in a financial environmentExposure to low latency technology and market connectivity is desirableSecurity conscious with a strong cyber reflexDetailed understanding if TCP/IP and UDP multicastExposure to Solace messaging platforms is advantageousLinux skills with Perl/Python are advantageousNagios / HP NNM exposure or equivalent network monitoring toolsProfessional attitude, profile and impact.Structured with strong analytical and planning skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsEffective at multitasking and self management Require experience and skillsPreferably degree level education in a numerate subjectNetworking background with experience in Cisco or AristaExperience with Firewall management of Fortigate and/or checkpointHands on experience with the implementation and troubleshooting of L2/L3 networks in a 2nd/3rd line support roleGood experience of corporate wifi solutionsAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new technologiesStrong Team player with flexible mind-set and can do' attitudeAbility to plan out work load and take on responsibility for projectsITIL experience from a controlled environment or a qualificationKnowledge Management systemsIdeally CCNA qualified, but not essentialGood knowledge of:IT Service ManagementIT methodology (ITIL preferably)Network and IT infrastructureIT SecurityUnderstanding of IT ArchitectureFluent in EnglishFrench would be a huge advantage.If you are interested in the below please could you apply in the first insitance by sending your CV
