Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Networks Team)

York

£40000 - £45000 per annum

An established business within the financial services sector are hiring for an Infrastructure Engineer to work within their IT Services Infrastructure team in York. The IT Services (ITS) function consists of approx 100 IT professionals that deliver and maintain the technology that enables the business, their partners and their customers; every hour of every day. This role will sit within the Networks discipline of technology services.

Within this role we require you to have experience working in enterprise environments, preferably within financial services and in national / international businesses. You will have a good understanding of DevOps principles, appreciation of Infrastructure as Code and how they can be applied in an Enterprise environment and a desire to work in multiple infrastructure technology areas

Technically we will be looking for exposure / skills upon most of the below:

* Cisco NX-OS , IOS-XE , IOS and JUNOS , supporting Routers and Switches

* Routing Protocols like OSPF,BGP,and quality of Service

* WAN connectivity including P2P , P2MP , S2S VPNs , VPLS and SD-WAN.

* F5 Loadbalancers (LTM/DNS) and Netscaler Gateway (SDX/VPX)

* Checkpoint Firewall experience including HA Virtual Systems and vSec

* ASA firewall experience including multiple contexts and HA

* Juniper SRX firewalls including HA, Security Director and Log Collector

* Proxy platforms; such as zScaler and Bluecoat

* WLAN controllers including OEAP connectivity

* Azure Express Route

* Cisco ISE

* Infoblox DNS , DHCP and IPAM

* Web Application Firewalls; such as Imperva or Barracuda

* Network Monitoring using Solarwinds , Azure Network Watcher

* Two Factor Authentication; such as RSA and Google Authenticator

* Automation experience with tools such as Terraform, Puppet , Powershell, Python

* Exposure to virtualized environments utilizing VMWare, Citrix Xendesktop and Xenapp

Within the role you will:

* Act as a primary technical contact for key technical areas, coordinating with stakeholders and technical colleagues as required.

* Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of infrastructure.

* Assist IT Services in the migration towards a code centric model for managing infrastructure.

* Produce and own system and infrastructure designs, policies and documentation.

* Ensure that assigned IT service incidents are managed effectively and root cause problem analysis is undertaken where appropriate to reduce the number and severity of future operational incidents.

* Proactively manage IT infrastructure to minimise business disruption and identify and drive initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the infrastructure services.

* Manage and provide 3rd line support for infrastructure platforms in accordance with agreed service levels, standards and processes.

* Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of infrastructure.
