Job Title: CAD TechnicianLocation: Kingston upon Thames (KT1 2EE)Salary: £30,000 per annumJob type: Full Time, 24 month ContractThe Service is a wholly owned subsidiary company of a University, established in December 1997. It is a non-profit making organisation providing facility management services to the University.The Role:The Service is a wholly owned subsidiary company of a University providing Facilities Management Services (cleaning, caretaking, maintenance, reception/telecoms and post, security and management of halls of residence) across all University sites, currently a total of 86 buildings.They are responsible to ensure that the University is compliance with all current legislation and statutory testing. This post-holder is responsible for reviewing all infrastructure records, updating these records as required.They will support the Estates Asset department for reviewing all drawings and schematics. Assist where required for projects. This role involves operating as part of the team, and so requires working alongside others with a positive, flexible, mobile, customer-oriented attitude to the work across all sites, in a spirit of teamwork and mutual support.Most importantly, it also involves supporting the Company's image by behaving in ways which are consistent with their values.This includes talking about the Company in a positive light, promoting improvements to working practices which are beneficial to the Company's long- and short-term business strategy, adopting a quality approach to all aspects of work and encouraging others to achieve high standards.Key Responsibilities:To provide a schedule of works and up to date drawings, for implementation of statutory and legislative testingTo ensure that all works conform to current building regulations, guidelines and accepted codes of practiceTo ensure regular progress reports and all relevant correspondence are produced and maintained to Company standardsTo provide assistance in relevant areas where needed across the CompanyTo undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as may from time to time become necessaryCreate high-quality detailed technical drawings, plans and make modifications to existing drawingsUse a variety of CAD software programmes to create designs in 2D and 3D modelsLiaise with architects, engineers and designers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing and construction techniciansProvide accurate, detailed and to scale drawingsConduct site visits and surveys when requiredAppoint specialists to undertake surveys as requiredTo liaise with the University faculty in planning and implementation of all surveysPresent working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction and installationMaintain accurate recordsThe Candidate:Minimum 2 years relevant work experiencePrevious experience in a similar position and environmentProven knowledge of CAD operations and proceduresExcellent communication skills, ability to listen to problems and to explain clearly actions to be takenExperience with configuration and maintenance of software packagesIT development and implementation skills, including tests and producing clear documentationAbility to analyse problems and produce achievable solutionsAbility to manage individual workload and work as part of a teamAbility to travel to different sites and building to be able to measure structuresFlexibility and motivation with good organisational skills and ability to work with little direct supervisionRecognised qualification in CAD operating proceduresPrevious experience in a building or ME backgroundBenefits:25 Days Annual Leave plus 8 Bank holidaysPension SchemeLife AssuranceNUS CardTrainingPlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of; CAD Technician, CAD, CAD Estimator, CAD Security, CAD, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Design, AutoCAD, 2D CAD, CAD Operator, CAD Designer, CAD Design, Corel Draw may also be considered for this role.
