I'm recruiting a Data Architect for a 12 Month fixed term contract in Cardiff. Salary circa £56,000pa + benefits.

You will work with business and technology teams to establish requirements of its data assets, then establish an appropriate strategy for their delivery and management. The Data Architect will work closely with colleagues to understand their business processes, data usage and application of business logic. Together with developers and administrators they will design and implement database solutions across the business that are appropriate and deliver business benefit while ensuring standards and policies are adhered to and align with the strategy.

The role will also require you to provide technical and data leadership and direction to the application development teams, leading architecture design ensuring strong governance standards, effective impact assessment and risk mitigation across the Principality Group.

In addition, the Data Architect will mentor and guide business, development, and administration teams in best practice and advise on emerging data management technology and governance, and create and own the data strategy and data roadmap that supports the organisational strategy as well as proactively planning for legacy data issues.

The data architect is not just focussed on the business intelligence architecture but covers the widespan of data, databases, and data processes across the group estate incorporating people, governance, and technology.

Requirements:-

* Minimum 3 years' experience in a SQL Development role

* Experience with Big Data Platforms (Hadoop, Cloudera or similar)

* Modelling both relational and dimensional databases

* Exposure to Architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF, Zachman etc. are desirable, but not essential
