IT Leadership role for a well known Global Power Supplier. As Head of Applications you will be responsible for a team of 40 setting the strategy and direction for the Application function while managing the existing application portfolio.Client DetailsA FTSE 250 International Power Supplier headquartered in Glasgow who have established themselves as a global leader in the provision of temporary Power Solutions over the last 60 years.DescriptionSet strategy and direction for the Application function. This will be expressed in a series of roadmaps that must align with overall IT strategy and architectural principles. Manage the application portfolio, ensuring applications meet business needs, have appropriate support, and are managed through their lifecycles. Support effective program delivery, working closely with the PMO, and ensure smooth transition from projects into production support. Promote the adoption and correct usage of our application suite, including a focus on improving data quality. Lead the business forums for application service health, ensuing appropriate prioritisation and effective delivery of small changes and enhancements. Deliver efficient and effective business as usual service, driving year on year efficiency improvements while meeting user expectations. Develop the team's skills and capabilities to meet the strategic needs of our business. Create a high performing team and provide leadership across recruitment, career development and performance management activities. Bring innovation and fresh thinking to improve the pace and effectiveness of delivery. Contribute to our ongoing efforts to introduce agile and DevOps approaches to our work. Supplier management. Develop the right portfolio of suppliers, with the right commercial constructs in place, and manage their delivery performance. Budget management. Set and manage the annual budget for the team. ProfileA strong track record of delivery in a demanding, fast paced, commercial environment Leadership skills to inspire and motivate a high performing team. Collaboration and influencing skills needed to align disparate stakeholders across a global organisation. An ability to innovate and bring new thinking to drive performance. Experience of Application management & support Detailed knowledge of project management methodologies and practices. Experience with agile approaches such as DevOps and SCRUM would be an advantage. Excellent team working, influencing and collaboration skills.
