Shared Infrastructure Technical Authority

Would you like to undertake a defined range of engineering activities? We currently have a vacancy for a Shared Infrastructure Technical Authority at our site in New Malden.

As a Shared Infrastructure Technical Authority, you will ensure all engineering activities are in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements under the direction of the Senior SDA. The role is primarily focused on defining the technical solution and supporting the development of the SI solution for naval platforms. This will cover a broad range of technical areas including hardware, software, systems and networking.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to oversee system design aspects for systems developed and delivered to Royal Navy platforms and enable you to see the end product on a royal navy ship.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Shared Infrastructure Technical Authority will involve:

Act as Technical Lead on multiple projects - often dealing with modifications and additions to existing SI systems

Support the production of technical solutions for bids, either individually or as part of a broader technical team

Support and prepare specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained

Carry out complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability

Your skills and qualifications:

System design experience/high level design experience

Full life cycle development experience

General combat systems experience

Extensive experience in an engineering or defence or related industry

Ideally degree qualified or equivalent

Ideally meet the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and preferably be a member of a relevant Professional body
