IT SECURITY ANALYST - EDINBURGH - 6 MONTHS - OUTSIDE IR35 - £400-500 PER DAY In this exciting public sector project you will be expected to;Monitor for, and respond to, security incidents;Undertake threat assessments using various threat feeds;Undertake regular vulnerability scanning and triage;Contribute to documentation including:Operational security standardsPatternsProcessesAssist in the delivery of key items on the IT Security Roadmap including: Security Monitoring (including SIEM);IPS Monitoring;Vulnerability and Compliance scanning services;Monitoring of both AWS and Azure In order to take on this project, you will need to have experience in the following:Application of security controls in line with standards such as ISO27001 / PCI DSS, CIS Top 20 etc.Vulnerability Management;Security Monitoring and Investigations;Intrusion Detection Systems;Standards Creation.Candidates must also have experience in at least 3 of the following areas: Knowledge and experience conducting forensic analysis to identify indicators of compromiseExperience with network analysis tools and the ability to conduct packet capture analysisExcellent understanding of network principles (TCP/IP, DNS etc.) and Internet Protocols (HTTP, SMTP etc.)Ability to triage vulnerability criticalities in line with implemented security controls and / or known plausible threats observed in relevant threat feeds;Knowledge of threat modelling techniques and threat analysis. Not essential, but useful:Experience of coordinating penetration testing activities by third parties against both network infrastructure and software development;Carrying out information security risk assessments and recommending appropriate mitigations;Experience of M365 & AWS;Relevant security related certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CSA+, CEH, GPPA.
