Role: Solution Architect

Location: Newport, Gwent

Length: 3 Months

IR35 : INSIDE

Our Newport based client is looking for a Solution Architect with experience around Data to join them for an inital 3 month period.

Key skills:

*Infrastructure (virtual servers, storage/SAN, networks, Cloud or physical)

*Relational database systems e.g. MS SQL, Oracle

*Big Data / Data Lake / Distributed Processing systems e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Oozie, Spark, Jupyter, Zeppelin

*Data wrangling, data engineering and data analytics approaches

*Data management & architecture standards/processes

*Strong understanding of data security, assurance and governance processes and associated access control systems

*Highly Desirable: Data/system migration and modernisation projects (e.g. SAS to Hadoop)

*Desirable: Systems involving SAS data processing

*Desirable: Cloudera/Hortonworks deployments

*Desirable: Data streaming and data transformation (e.g. Nifi, Kafka, Streamsets)

*Desirable: Windows Server/virtual desktops, RHEL/CentOS knowledge

*Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with both technical and business individuals, directing and influencing them in how to develop their business processes, project delivery and technical implementation.

*Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

*A team player with an aptitude and ability for coaching and mentoring architecture colleagues in the application of the technologies highlighted above and supporting delivery teams in developing solutions with the above.

*Knowledge of architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF, and experience in the application of modelling standards such as Archimate and UML.
