The company is a global business that dominates its sector globally. They are a large technology company that employs over 8000 staff worldwide and due to its continuing growth, they are now seeking a Graduate JavaScript Developer. The Bristol office is expanding which will offer you lots of opportunities to learn new skills and potentially grow your career in Bristol and possible abroad if you wanted to do so. Full training is provided for this role, so you don't even need to have any experience. You will, however, need to have a minimum of a 2.1 in a computer science-related subject with the focus being on programming. As a Graduate JavaScript Developer, your duties will be to:Develop functionality based on existing coding standards or patterns.Write unit tests for own code.Investigate and fix defects for own and others code.Contribute to code reviews written by the team.Maintain documentation for products you work on. The skills and experience you will gain as a Graduate JavaScript Developer will be in the following:
JavaScript / ES2015 programming language.HTML and CSS.NPM, Babel, Webpack, Yarn.Writing tests (Mocha, webdriver.io, Browser Stack, science-related).Understanding of software design principles and design patterns.Linux/Unix OS, React, Sass and Typescript.Scripting language (Bash, Python, etc).Continuous deployment and integration tools (Jenkins, Docker, etc).Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). All you need is a bachelor’s degree (1st or 2:1) in computer science, engineering, or information systems, a passion for programming, excellent written and spoken communication skills, good analytical and problem-solving skills and a highly motivated attitude with experience working as part of a team.
