With an operating model that drives collaboration, client focus and attention, the company are now renowned on a global scale for their expertise in media, digital and creative communications services.Job descriptionIn this Junior Cyber Security Engineer job, you will focus on software engineering to automate the deployment, management and monitoring of security engineering services running in public cloud services. A huge hunger for innovation and problem solving is essential. The company will invest in your development, and you will work with a small team of talented engineers who are developing an engineering practice from the ground-up. You will need a technical degree within either Engineering or Maths/Science and a real interest in cyber security!Key responsibilitiesIn this Junior Cyber Security Engineering role, your responsibilities will include:
'€¢Delivering security as-code'€¢Working to automate the deployment and management of web application firewalls, secret management services and cloud guard rails'€¢Embedding security requirements into Agile Software Development processes as well as automated DevOps and CI/CD processes'€¢Providing support to the senior engineers to develop re-usable security patterns'€¢Encourage the re-use of established security patterns'€¢Provide hands-on support to deliver spikes'€¢Prepare engineering artefacts
Job requirements
'€¢A 2.1 in a technical degree such as Computer Science or Engineering'€¢A keen interest in Cyber Security and Defence is a necessity'€¢Experience using scripting languages such as JavaScript'€¢Knowledge of Go and Terraform would be ideal'€¢Experience with a 'digitally native' environment (Cloud Native, DevOps, API enabled and big data analytics)'€¢An understanding of IT Security domains would be ideal but not a necessity'€¢Some understanding of cloud security service design e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP'€¢Strong communication skills
