I am currently recruiting for a Project Engineer working on a massive project in the South West.SummaryPlans, monitors and facilitates the project from a site perspective. Ensure project WBS aspects are completed on time, within budgets and to required quality standards, whilst building and maintaining strong client relationships. Key duties and responsibilities Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specificationsCoordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problemsDirects integration or technical activities and productsEvaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releasesControls expenditures within limitations of project budgetPrepares interim and completion project reportsWork in conjunction with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure that all engineering works meet the quality and HSE requirements of the contract.Be familiar with the basis of the estimate, scope and programme and identify any potential changes, which may affect cost or programme, as early as possible.Report in conjunction with the Project Manager and Construction Manager on all aspects of the Construction, Engineering and Design work carried out on the contract.Ensure that information required is specified and collated appropriately for input to the Construction process.Work in conjunction with the Project team to ensure that Engineering and Drawing Office activities are prepared in advance to meet the plan and budget requirements.Approves supplier/subcontractor documentation on behalf of the Project Manager.Prepare basis of estimates for changes and work as part of the wider team to ensure that these are coordinated and delivered on time.Ensures that design and Construction reviews, are carried out in accordance with corporate and client procedures. A key activity is to ensure that any resultant actions are formally documented and progressed.Work in conjunction with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure adequate resources, in terms of quality and quantity are available to ensure efficient and timely execution of construction activities in line with the programme.Works within the time schedules, man-hour budgets, project policies, and specifications established for the contract.Ensures timely reports are made to the Project Manager regarding engineering progress, manpower requirements or concerns.Ensures co-ordination between all aspects of engineering, design work construction and manufacturing for delivery on site.Authorises the issue of produced design documentation on behalf of the Project Manager when not available.Ensures input and support into procurement for equipment and material ordering and reports costs through to the project controls team.Work in conjunction with the Construction Manager to identify changes to the scope of work and assisting the Cost Engineer and QS to implement the change control procedure.Ensures that construction scopes of work, technical specifications and manufacturing information (Travellers) are properly prepared and participates in the selection of construction contractors and site activities.Manages Interfaces with outside bodies and internal stakeholders.Building and maintaining customer relationships throughout the project, handling enquiries and contracts.Conducting and recording customer interface meetings as requiredTravel off site to Teesside site or suppliers as and when requiredAny other similar requirements as requestedIf you are interested, please send a current CV and I will be in touch to discuss further.
