The successful Mechanical Engineer with join a rapidly growing business in the biotechnology industry, who is looking to grow their Mechanical Engineering team in Cambridge. This role will involve working on various projects related to the development of their technology platform. This is a rare opportunity to play an important role in the development of a cutting-edge technology, and as part of a dynamic early-stage company.Responsibilities of the role include: Developing the mechanical layout of the optical components of the instrument systems Producing CADs of the complete instrument system and cartridge elements Prototyping and industrialising key opto-mechanical sub-elements of the instrumentPlanning and performing instrument validation and verification testing The successful applicant will have: Masters-level or PhD level qualification in the field of mechanical or opto-mechanic engineering Excellent skills in CAD design tools (ideally SolidWorks) Industry experience of the design and development of scientific instrumentation Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality solutions to difficult challengesDemonstrated willingness to take ownership of individual and team tasks Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Both a team-player and able to work autonomously Highly motivated and results-drivenA good command of spoken and written EnglishTo apply or for more information, please contact Chris Moffatt at IC Resources.
