We are recruiting on behalf of an organisation that following a sustained period of rapid growth (tripling turnover in 2 years) has created an opportunity for a Director of Business Systems to join the organisation, taking ownership of application strategy across EMEA.
The organisation has been running for 40 years and has built a reputation of creating top consumer brands across a wide variety of consumer product categories. They are the largest privately owned company in their field.
The Director of Business Systems will partner with the Directors of regional businesses in setting strategic and tactical direction of the IT organisation, providing business systems for EMEA functions including Sales Operations, Supply chain planning, Marketing, Sales, Legal, HR, Tax, Finance and other departments.
The successful candidate should have a solid track record of implementing/delivering complex projects across the value chain, building effective business partnerships, leading business process / IT transformation initiatives, and cost management while ensuring a positive work environment that emphasises teamwork to achieve common goals.
Responsibilities: · Lead and inspire the application development team to engage with the business and identify new functionality, develop compelling business cases, prioritise projects and develop plans that maximise return on investment for the company. · Managing large scale projects and running business applications for corporate function applications (ERP/Finance, CRM, HR, BI/Datawarehouse etc.) · Lead a team managing all aspects of applications implementation and delivery across multiple functions, business units and business lines. · Develop and lead a collaborative and Agile software development approach that improves velocity, while maintaining a strong focus on both quality and scalability. · Drive the cultural changes necessary to enable a continuous delivery model and foster a strong focus on automation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). · Seek out, validate, and bring to the technology organisation innovative best practices and ideas from the outside, with an emphasis on application development methodologies. · Identify emerging technology trends, especially in the area of SaaS and cloud computing, and ensure the company is leveraging them when appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive value.
Person Specifications: · Must have global ERP implementation experience (Microsoft Dynamics and or SAP is a plus) and should know ERP areas well and how to meet S&OP, SOX and PCI compliance demands. · Has successfully led development and delivery of multiple complex business technology solutions into production that have achieved or surpassed business goals. · Experience developing and supporting mission critical applications optimised to run in the cloud environments. · Deep knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology. · Expertise with managing application development at scale, employing SDLC methodologies including Agile and Scrum. · Has knowledge of emerging trends and developments in SaaS, cloud, AI, machine learning and other digital technologies. · Demonstrated ability in developing a culture that embraces innovation, and challenges existing paradigms. · Exceptional stakeholder management skills
