Your opportunity
Shape today's ideas into tomorrow's products.

As an Innovation Architect in the Ventures team, you will be directing the technical vision for product ideas moving through the incubation process. Drawing on your past experience and knowledge of building products, you will provide a guiding hand ensuring the right ideas are given the best chance of success as they go from first pitch all the way through to graduating to the Software development team.

Your role
The Innovation Architect is a role within our Digital Financial Advisory (FA) Ventures team; this team's purpose is to discover innovative ideas within FA and take them on a journey of evaluation and incubation. The best ideas are then transitioned into a Software development team.

The Innovation Architect role brings a technical perspective to this process. Responsibilities include:
Providing technical guidance through all stages of an idea's lifecycle, using past experience to predict consequences of particular courses of action and to focus conversation on the important aspects from a technical perspective Proposing high-level solution architectures for ideas with a focus on identifying the best technology for the job Identifying technology challenges or feasibility concerns for an idea (e.g. does the technology exist? Are the costs to scale manageable?) Supporting the transition phase of an idea from Ventures into the Development team Act as a sounding board for technology-based ideas outside the incubation process and an advocate in the wider business for the incubation process Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution Leading Research & Development i.e. evaluating new technologies for relevance Your work, your choice
At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. Please speak to your recruiter about the working pattern that works best for you.

Location:
You will be based in London, with occasional travel to St. Albans (25 minutes by train from our London office) where the Product Factory team is based.

Work pattern:
This is a permanent contract opportunity.
The role can be worked on a full-time or part-time basis. Our team members work a variety of agile working patterns. Tell us what arrangement works for you and we'll try to accommodate.
Your professional experience
It is essential that you:
Have past experience of architecting multiple products/platforms, particularly scaling them Are able to articulate technical concepts in simple, non-technical terms Can challenge idea owners with objective and constructive questions on technical considerations Have a strong background in managing and influencing multiple stakeholders It is preferable that you:
Have a strong understanding of Agile principles Have experience working with a development team Are familiar with the tools available on the market relating to domains relevant to FA (data visualisation, databases, data analytics, case management) Have had some past hands-on coding experience Have cloud (AWS) experience Have worked with 3rd parties to deliver work Your service line: Financial Advisory
Advising clients in the moments that define their business takes multiple layers of expertise. Much more than due-diligence, this is about diverse teams of specialists coming together, crossing service lines and international borders to tackle the many, complex issues involved in major transactions. And we have one of the broadest networks in the business. Here, you'll find fascinating, career-building projects, market leading approaches, cutting-edge resources, huge clients and inspirational colleagues. As well as opportunities to develop a deep industry or product specialism.
