IT Programme Director

£730 per day (INSIDE IR35)

1 month rollingAn IT programme Director is required for our public sector client based in Leeds.

Specifically this role will work as the lead IT person accountable for the planning and delivery of the IT technical work streams for a Corporate Processes and Systems (CPS) programme which is also scoping transformation of the current SAP ERP infrastructure, working alongside other business and programme directors.The ideal candidate shall hold overall responsibility for the preparation of the plan to support the definition of the portfolio of work across IT and the dependencies, in and out, with other major programmes at the organisation. This role will support the Head of Development and Projects and will have a broad remit to capture all activity and assist with the definition of practices and processes that will aid, in the longer term, to accelerate IT projects and programmes whilst ensuring alignment to overall strategy, and specifically in support of the upcoming CPS programme.The initial work package for delivery end of January will be planning activities, health check and assessment of capabilities:

* Gather all related IT projects, programme and initiatives into a single cohesive portfolio

* Review any existing project and programme plans

* Align with any internal meetings which will aid in the gathering and prioritisation of key activities

* Undertake initial prioritisation, highlighting quick wins, whilst understanding the wider and future landscape

* Provide assistance in influencing future delivery decisions around key programmesWork package #1: Validated and updated programme plan for IT

Work package #2: Summary assessment report on capabilities with recommendations and optionsFurther activities and deliverables could include:

* Develop and monitor an integrated phased delivery plan to meet the key business events appropriate to each phase, including cross-workstream and any cross-phase dependencies

* Agree milestones and deliverable dates which will be signed off by all sponsors.

* Ensure alignment with the CPS programme and other programmes

* Assist in the creation of a structure and capabilities that will provide future clarity of roles and responsibilities, with advice around improving capacity and capabilityDeep experience and hands on delivery expertise is required with exposure to large ERP and technical programmes, with multi-supplier and multi-disciplinary teams.
