Do you have proven experience of using the latest design software and wireframe tools and a portfolio of professional work that includes design projects involving web/mobile applications? Then join UEL as a UX Digital Designer and you could soon playing your part at the heart of our External Relations Design & Digital team.

Now is a particularly exciting time to join us as we are building an External Relations directorate that will bring together an integrated Communications & Engagement and Student Recruitment & Marketing service.

We're also looking at a corporate rebrand and launching ‘Vision 2028' - a strategy that's preparing our students communities for the skills required in Industry 4.0 and the world of Artificial Intelligence. Your challenge will be to turn our digital assets and software into easy-to-use products for multiple audiences, with a heavy emphasis on mobile technology and automation in the future. As well as gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components, we'll rely on you to Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps too. Conducting usability testing, designing graphic user interface elements like menus, tabs and widgets, providing UX support in some non-digital areas and identifying and troubleshooting problems - all are elements of this interesting and varied role.

To succeed, you'll need to be a user-centred and creative designer with a background in project management and research and a data-driven approach to design. Someone who's able to quickly grasp user needs and solve problems, you're great at creating both functional and user-friendly features that address audience needs and can help us engage better with our stakeholders too. Essentially, we need an analytical, commercially aware and technically savvy individual who is able to consider the Why (motivations & values) What (functionality & features) and How (accessibility & aesthetics) of digital and product use.
