My defence client is looking for an experienced Avionics Systems Officer to join their team in the South East. They are looking for someone to start in January on an initial 12 month contract. SC Clearance required.

The Avionics Systems Officer will be responsible for supporting the Avionics Engineering Authority in managing specific avionics systems and equipment. This is a complex post working across several stakeholder communities both in the UK and internationally with the partnering nations and industry, in addition to cross function collaborative working.

Extensive knowledge in supporting Avionics equipment in the Air environment, working knowledge and experience of the UK Safety and Airworthiness Regulations.

Responsibilities include:

* Lead as the avionics systems desk officer.

* Act as the focal point for in-service occurrences associated with area of responsibility, liaising appropriately when necessary between DCAM and the Safety Manager.

* As avionics desk officer, ensure the quality, technical content and timely management/promulgation of airworthiness instructions, data and documentation.

* Liaise with the MAA where appropriate, engaging proactively to ensure compliance with MAA emerging regulation and assurance requirements.

* Support line management in compliance of 3rd party audits of the approved data register supporting both independent Safety Auditor and Military Aviation Authority MAA as required.

* Maintain and where appropriate develop processes to ensure rigorous integration, audit trails and coherence of Airworthiness data across all aircraft engineering stakeholders.

* Experience of working on a collaborative international programme (desirable).

* Occasional UK travel will be required.
