The Role As IT Project Manager you will manage the development and timely release of new CIPD systems and solutions as defined by the Head of IT and the IT Project Portfolio Manager. What You'll Be Doing Ensuring the CIPD's core systems evolve to support the Institute's changing needs Managing IT projects, working with internal project teams to deliver to time and specification. Projects will vary in nature and may include software development projects, implementation projects, or support Effectively translating user requirements and business cases into functional specifications and project plans using PRINCE2, Agile and Business Analysis approaches. This will require close collaboration with both internal staff and external resources throughout project life cycles Project managing efficiently both internal and third party resources Providing effective project planning and excellent communication at all levels as a key to building successful customer relationships Assisting the IT project office and ensure the output meets CIPD standards Effectively managing allocated project budgets Ensuring the recording, analysis, and mitigation of project risks Consulting with key business stakeholders to elicit solution requirements and produce specifications that can be used to define project deliverables What You'll Need To Be Successful Experience in project management and the ability to co-ordinate and guide projects to achieve outcomes Ability to work with non-technical and technical staff to gain an understanding of business problems, define solutions and design appropriate approaches Good commercial awareness and business analysis experience Experience of change management A PRINCE2 or PMI qualification A customer-focused approach to delivery and sound experience implementing business systems and web technologies A sound understanding of the software development process Excellent leadership skills Experience of software implementation projects, which include full exposure to the complete project lifecycle (including change control and risk management) and in the development and execution of effective stakeholder management plans Knowledge of these systems is desirable but not essential: Microsoft operating systems/platforms, SQL databases, core business systems (Open Accounts, Integra, Salesforce), systems integration (Informatica), business intelligence tools (Cognos), project management methodologies, web content management systems (Tridion), e-commerce technologies and other web-based technologies Please note, this advert is due to close on Friday 3 January 2020.
