Storage Management Specialist

Location: Telford, Shropshire

Salary: £30,000pa - £40,000

Clearance: SC Clearance

Role Purpose

We are looking for a Storage Management technician who ideally has knowledge and experience of supporting enterprise storage arrays, SANs and Virtual tape Libraries including Dell, Fujitsu Eternus, NetApp, and Veritas. As part of a small team within a larger Operations organization, working with a high-profile UK Government Customer, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery of the following key accountabilities.

Key Accountabilities: Management and support of Enterprise class storage arrays and the associated SAN fabric in all Data Centers.Capacity & performance management of the Storage infrastructureResponsible for the allocation and removal of SAN storageMaintenance & configuration of all hardware and associated support software.Substantive contributions to incremental and step change service improvement activityDevelop the capability and skills of peers and junior engineersThe transition of new services into existing Storage InfrastructureDelivery of key transformation and Customer project deliverables.

The candidate will in time become a Subject Matter Expert and will be expected to provide technical input during Transformation/Customer projects and live service events. The candidate should have previous experience of storage infrastructure used on Windows, Solaris and Linux server platforms.

Essential Skills: Extensive experience of supporting and delivering change for Enterprise class storage systemsCompetence in problem investigation, analysis and resolutionStrong interpersonal communicationProactive approach to personal workload management

Desirable Skills:Awareness of the ITIL Service Management framework and specifically incident and change managementKnowledge of EM Tools for Storage SolutionsTechnical leadership and direction
